De zuidkant biedt een uitzicht van ruim 80 (!) kilometer ver op de top van de Monte Amiata; de noordzijde met haar fruittuin kijkt uit op Cortona. Bellavista is well-named: its all-round views take in Monte Amiata, Foiano della Chiana and the old Abbey of Farneta. Next door is a field of sunflowers. There was a farm here for 200 years but the house was extensively restored about 30 years ago. It still has the original brick exterior, now softened by creepers, and a welcoming, family atmosphere (Simonetta and her husband have two young children).There's an assured, uncluttered country elegance to the rooms, and pretty, airy bedrooms are furnished with family antiques and interesting engravings. Simonetta's kitchen has a huge marble table top for kneading bread and she cooks farmhouse food for her guests. She also gives cookery lessons for a maximum of four, so if you want to learn how to make gnocchi, fresh pasta, focaccia... Her husband, who's in the restaurant business, sees to the wines. Vespas and mountain bikes are free! Real Italian family B&B.
